Yvette Chanel
Yvette Chanel is a polymathic artist from San Francisco, CA who began her journey in music with the piano at the age of nine. She continued with her passion in music by studying cello at the age of twelve and joining every school choir within her grasp up until college.
It wouldn’t be until college that she discovered her gift in opera. She began touring as a solo vocalist with Chris Brubeck and the Stockton Symphony expanded her experience in Jazz repertoire.
With a range of 5 octaves, Yvette showcased her vocal gift in both the classical and jazz genres during her time at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Ca.
During her time on the east coast, she performed with the esteemed harmonicist Frederick Yonnet in Washington, DC, and was featured as artist in residence at Strathmore Hall for her first headline. Yvette found her passion in creative writing, painting, and beading during this time and began to expand her passion for creativity through them.
Yvette found her way back to California and began her internship as assistant event coordinatin directo at San Francisco’s Brava Theatre.
After the birth of her daughter, Yvette began performing as a freelance artist at private and corporate events including her time with the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera. In 2020, she became an assistant director to the undoubtedly talented director and actress, Margo Hall, for the play “Heiroglyphics” By Erika Dickerson-Despenza at the Lorraine Hansberry Theatre in San Francisco, Ca.
In 2021,Yvette Chanel took on the vocal roll of Second Lady in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” presented by SF’s Pocket Opera which will be released in 2025. She also began her pursuit in knowledge of audio engineering by attending CRAS in 2023.
In 2024, Yvette gave back to her community performing at local fundraisers and services for the Sisters of Nia, and the Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento.
In 2025, she took on a choral role in Sacramento's Light Opera Theatre's rendition of Dracula (the Mikado). Yvette Chanel is currently a member of Sacramento’s Vox Musica's 2025/2026 season and continues to hone all of her gifts in the arts.
